The Story of KiKi's Out of School's Club
🏫 Our KiKi’s Story 💛
Hunts Grove Primary Academy opened its brand-new school building in September 2019—the very same year Vicki’s son, Jack, started in Reception. At the time, there was no after-school provision available in the school.
Vicki, a registered childminder with a passion for caring for children, began by taking children back to her home after school. As word spread and more families asked for support, it quickly became clear that one home just wasn’t enough! Determined to create a safe, fun, and welcoming space, Vicki started hiring a classroom at the school—and KiKi’s After School Club was born 🌟
The club was an instant hit! With more and more families relying on the service, the school soon invited Vicki to take over the Breakfast Club too ☀️🥣
📋 Growing & Thriving
As the club continued to grow, Vicki took the next big step by registering with Ofsted, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism. Then came the biggest challenge of all—lockdown.
A huge thank you goes to the families who supported KiKi’s during this time 💕 With children missing out on vital social time, KiKi’s recognised how important it was for them to reconnect. In Summer 2021, KiKi’s proudly launched its very first Holiday Playscheme in Hunts Grove Primary Academy, giving children a safe place to play, laugh, and be children again 🌈
🌸 Why “KiKi’s Kidz”?
The name KiKi’s Kidz comes from the adorable way young children often pronounce “Vicki” as “KiKi” 😊. The spelling of KiKi’s Kidz was lovingly chosen by the original children Vicki childminded, making the name truly child-led and full of heart.

Our rainbow lanyards are worn with pride as a tribute to the incredible keyworkers who helped support KiKi’s through the Covid years, recognising their dedication and hard work ❤️
🎉 Where We Are Today
Today, KiKi’s Out of School Club continues to thrive at Hunts Grove Primary Academy, and KiKi’s Playschemes now run regularly at both Hempsted Primary and Hunts Grove Primary. What started as a small childminding service has grown into a trusted, much-loved support for families—creating a space where children can learn, laugh, and grow together 🌟

When it comes to our holiday playschemes, we expand our team by bringing in extra staff, including members of our core KiKi’s team and friendly faces from Hempsted Primary 🎨⚽.
This approach helps maintain continuity of care, so children feel supported by familiar adults who know them well 💕.
